Certificate of Authenticity
Every piece that leaves my studio carries a commitment: authenticity. I do not work with unlimited reproductions or print-on-demand. Each photograph is produced in a limited number of copies, and I personally document, sign and number every individual print before it reaches your hands.
Limited edition of 3 copies
Each image in this catalog is printed in a strictly limited edition of 3 copies. I do not produce additional runs once an edition sells out: once all 3 copies of an image have been sold, that piece is permanently unavailable in that format. This deliberate scarcity is part of the value of the piece you acquire.
Signature and numbering
Each copy is delivered signed by hand by me, Marco Zouvek, on the artwork's own paper, along with its corresponding number within the edition (for example, 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3). The numbering does not indicate an order of quality or printing: every copy is produced with the same care and to the same standards.
Certificate of authenticity
Together with the artwork you will receive a certificate of authenticity that includes:
- The title of the work and the series it belongs to
- The copy number within the limited edition (X/3)
- My original signature
- Technical printing details: paper, technique and size
- The printing date
This document certifies the origin and exclusivity of your piece, and it is recommended that you keep it together with the artwork, especially if in the future you decide to sell it, insure it or include it in a collection.
Printing process
All works are printed using high-resolution giclée technique on Hahnemühle Museum Etching, 350 gsm paper, a 100% cotton, acid-free archival paper with an estimated lifespan of more than 100 years under proper conservation conditions. This process guarantees a faithful reproduction of the color, contrast and detail captured at the moment the photograph was taken.
Why I sign and number every copy
Fine art photography differs from consumer photography precisely on this point: it is not an endlessly reproducible product, but a limited-edition work, treated with the same standards of scarcity and authenticity as any other artistic discipline. Signing and numbering each copy by hand is my way of guaranteeing that what you acquire is, indeed, a unique piece within a small, closed set.
