Boat at Rest: Cadaqués

A small wooden boat rests beached on the shore next to an illuminated tree that wraps it in a warm, almost domestic light. Behind it, the same row of white houses and arches that defines Cadaqués's seafront fades under a dense, cloud-covered sky, with the moon only barely hinted at between them.

It's a more intimate image than the village's grand views: what matters here is the detail —the boat pulled out of the water, the tree someone chose to light up, the dark door left ajar— more than the landscape as a whole.
