The Ballesteries, A Second Silence

A second look at the same stretch of Carrer de les Ballesteries, this time in a cooler, more nocturnal register: a full moon hangs just where the street curves out of sight, between weathered stone façades and the iron streetlamps that lit this old quarter of the ballesters — the crossbow- and arrow-makers who worked here beside the medieval wall and the Onyar riverbed. Together with the first image of this same street, it forms a diptych documenting two ways of looking at the same cobbled passage: one warm and mirrored in wet stone, the other cold and ruled by the sky above.
