Golden Downpour: Correfocs, Barcelona

A burst of golden sparks opens over a packed square, and for an instant the whole crowd looks up at once. The tone here is more festive than threatening — gold instead of red, celebration more than chaos.

This piece works as a counterpoint to ‘Crimson Deluge’: the same tradition, the same fire, but an entirely different emotional register. Together, the two images show the two faces of Correfocs — danger and celebration, inseparable from one another.
