Above the Roman Bridge of Mérida, a full moon rises wrapped in a veil of high clouds that scatter its light across the entire night sky. The granite arches, lit by the ambient light already bathing the monument, repeat one after another until they fade into the distant glow of the city, while the still waters of the Guadiana return every golden flicker.

Stretching over seven hundred metres and sixteen centuries old, it is the longest surviving Roman bridge in the world, still spanning the same riverbed once crossed by legionaries and merchants of ancient Emerita Augusta. Within the Fragmentos de Ciudad y Paisaje series, this photograph opens a new chapter devoted to the Roman heritage of Extremadura.

Fragmentos de Ciudad y Paisaje Series. Purist long-exposure night photography, captured exclusively with ambient light and moonlight, with no artificial lighting added and no digital sky replacement. Museum-quality Giclée print on 100% cotton Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper, 350 gsm, produced by GraficArtPrints. Each work is delivered with its Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity. Limited edition of five.
