Peratallada at Midnight

No studio light intervenes in this image: all illumination comes from the lamps that already existed on the street the night of the shot. It is a discipline Marco Zouvek applies consistently throughout the Peratallada series, inherited from his training in international photojournalism —document without intervening, let the village light itself—. The result carries the tension of a tenebrist painting: marked shadows, selective sharpness, and a street that seems to wait for someone who never arrives.
