The Alcázar Approach: Plaza Reina Victoria Eugenia, Segovia

The Plaza Reina Victoria Eugenia, in Segovia's old quarter, opens onto a dirt promenade lined with trees and classic cast-iron lamps crowned with three glass globes, their light repeating in a perfect cadence toward the far end of the frame. Low circular railings guard each tree along the path, and at the end, illuminated, the stone arch leading to the Alcázar bridge announces the castle's silhouette without needing to reveal it in full.

The composition follows the same principle that governs the whole series: no light source foreign to the scene, only the historic lighting that already illuminates this approach to the Alcázar every night.
