Of the entire Peratallada series, this is the most stripped-down piece: no monumental arches, no multiple lamps, just a silent, centuries-old alley where stone and shadow occupy almost the entire frame. It is a meditation on solitude more than on architecture —the place matters less here than the sense of emptiness it conveys, an emptiness that can only be photographed once no one is left awake in the village.
