The Gate-Tower's Watch, Besalú

A single gatehouse keeps watch over the entrance to Besalú. Its stone archway opens onto a cobbled stairway climbing into the shadows, while one lantern — the only source of warmth in the frame — reveals the centuries-old texture of the wall. A vertical composition in deep blues with an amber counterpoint, this piece finds its place in hallways, entryways, or high-ceilinged studies.
No artificial light was added to the scene: illumination comes solely from the lantern already fixed to the wall.
